Gary was saved as a freshman in high school, and upon graduation applied at Bob Jones University to major in English with the goal of ultimately becoming a school teacher.  But while filling out his college application a question was asked, “What is your ultimate purpose in life?”  His Bible on his desk was opened to Ephesians 3:8, “Unto me who am less than the least of all saints is this grace given that I should preach among the Gentiles the unsearchable riches of Christ.”  The Lord used that verse to call him into the ministry that has extended over forty years.

 

Gary has served as the original pastor of a church plant in Commercial Point, Ohio for seven and a half years, the pastor of a long-established church in Spencerville, Ohio for seven and a half years, and at the Lima Baptist Temple for twenty-six and a half years.  During his years at the Lima Baptist Temple he has served as a teacher of English and Bible in the Temple Christian School, an associate pastor, senior pastor, and he now ministers in the Auditorium Sunday School class, speaks during the Sunday Evening Bible Study, and directs the senior citizens of the church as pastor of the New Horizons Fellowship.
