Michael Green

Student Pastor / Tech-Media Director

Michael grew up in Northeast Oklahoma. As a young boy Michael started attending a local church by being picked up on the church van. He was one of those crazy kids that was loud and obnoxious on the van. At Faith Baptist Church in Colcord, Oklahoma he accepted Christ as Lord and Savior at a young age and was baptized later in Jr. High. Michael was very involved in things as a high school student: sports, academics, Teens for Christ, vocational training, and part-time jobs, but he saw the importance of being involved in the local church on a regular basis.

Michael had planned to attend Northeastern Oklahoma A&M College after high school to obtain a degree in engineering. God had other plans and led Michael to pursue a degree at Summit University, formerly Baptist Bible College of Clarks Summit, Pennsylvania; while completing an internship at the Youth Ministry Institute at Teens for Christ. Through the college he met his wife Rachel, and that’s a complicated and God ordained story so you’ll have to ask him about it. Michael and Rachel were married in May 2016. Michael completed the internship in 2015 and graduated from College in 2016 with a Bachelor of Science in Bible and Theology.

Michael says, “In August 2013 I was a volunteer in the youth group at LBT. An opening for the Student Pastor position became available and I really felt led to pursue that position. I spoke with Pastor Al and waited. He contacted me to fill in as interim, just after returning from a mission trip to Haiti, in 2014. From that point on I have been the Student Pastor starting part-time and moving to full-time. I have also played a significant role in our media and technology areas by using the talents God has given me and maintaining a standard for excellence. I am so excited to be serving at Lima Baptist Temple as much now as I was when I started. I look forward to God doing awesome things here at LBT through our students!”
